Piedmont Elementary Orff Ensemble
Introduciing the newest part ofthe Piedmont Honor Band, the Piedmont Elementary Orff Ensemble!

This new Ensemble will be for 4th and 5th Graders. Students will work on some materials using barred Orff instruments, classroom percussion instruments, and recorders. There is no audition. Students are nominated by their music teacher. Below is a list of information.

About the Elementary Orff Ensemble:
--Any school, public, private or charter is invited to attend.
--Students are accepted on their music teacher’s recommendation, so the pressure of an audition is removed, and teachers can recommend the students that they feel can benefit the most from this experience.
--This is a one day clinic on Saturday, March 28th. There will be rehearsals from 10:00 to 3:00 (with a lunch break), and a parent concert at 3:30.
--Students who are nominated should have classroom experience on barred Orff instruments, classroom percussion instruments, and been taught at least B, A, and G on their recorders.
--Students who make it into the Ensemble need to come with a Soprano Baroque Recorder.
--Teachers of the students who are in the Ensemble need to be at the clinic, and be ready to assist as needed.
--Music teachers will nominate any 4th or 5th Grader you think could benefit from being a part of this ensemble by making a list of students in the order they would like them to be accepted.
--As this is the first year for this Ensemble, it can’t be said for sure whether every student will be accepted. Every effort will be made to take as many students as possible
